Millcreek Montessori Open House

The comedy play The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer will be presented by the McDowell Center for Performing Arts on February 7-8-9, 2008 at 7:30 PM. The show will take place in the McDowell Little Theatre (3320 Caughey Road) at 7:30 PM. All seats are $5.00 and tickets will be sold at the door beginning 30 minutes prior to curtain.The play, adapted for the stage by F. Andrew Leslie, is based on the Sidney Sheldon screenplay which starred Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, and Shirley Temple. This is truly one of the most creative comedies written for the stage as it contains many interesting characters and hilarious, witty writing.
The show features of a cast of 25 and stars Sarah Hammerlee, Eric McCrea, Alexandra Schwartz, John Nagy, Sean Weese, and Ben Triscuit. The production is directed by Jean Malthaner and assisted by Michael Malthaner who also composed several song selections for the play. Jason Loesch is technical director and Dave Kisner is the set designer.
The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer is wonderful entertainment for the entire family. The production is funny, upbeat, and heartwarming, and everyone will leave the theatre feeling happy. Don’t miss The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer February 7-8-9, 2008 at 7:30 PM in the McDowell Little Theatre.

The McDowell Speech and Debate Team is holding a Schwan’s fundraiser through Jan. 18th. We are raising money for upcoming national and regional tournament trips, including competitions at Harvard University in February, the state tournament at the University of Susquehanna, and two national tournaments in Appleton, Wisconsin and Las Vegas, Nevada later in the spring. As you can imagine, the cost of these trips adds up quickly.
All ordering for Schwan’s fundraising is available through the Internet and everything you order will be delivered to your home address. There is a wide array of items available. If you regularly shop through Schwan’s, please consider ordering through our fundraiser and helping to support our group. Your continuing support of our program is greatly appreciated!!

The charitable cause at JSW continues to be THE CARING PLACE, and have concluded fundraising for the year. At an assembly on Friday, January 4th, 2006 at 2:15 pm, the sixth graders will present a check to Mr. Jonathon Rilling in excess of $2,000.00. Additionally, Mr. Koma will be sporting his new “shaved” head and the sixth grade teachers will sport their “blue” hair on this day. These were offered incentives to entice the students to raise money.
