This is truly a school/community effort for our first round of “Growing Green Together” at James S. Wilson Middle School. With the assistance of the Millcreek School Foundation, we will be spending this morning planting over 50 trees on our property with the help of MTSD staff, students, parents, community volunteers, etc.. This will be a true collaborative learning experience for all as we continue down our path of “green.”

As a part of the Millcreek Township’s effort to promote adolescent literacy and increase communication between school and home, we would like to offer workshops on how parents can foster teen readers. The workshop will include information on the following topics: sharing our literate lives, making the match between teen and book, how to engage reluctant readers especially boys, what to expect out of a “young adult” novel, the Printz and Alex award winners, and books your teens will love.
