New Announcements:
Mr. Rankin: A reminder that we have senior locker cleanout this morning during homeroom. Homeroom will end at the regular time. Seniors are asked to place all trash in the barrels that have been provided in each hallway.
Mr. Rankin (Important senior end-of-year announcement):
Seniors’ last full day for classes will be Monday, June 2. Attendance for academic and disciplinary obligations, including final exams, will be required for seniors Tuesday through Friday, June 3-6. Seniors are not expected to be in the building during times they do not have exams, other academic requirements to complete, or disciplinary time owed (ISS, detention, etc.).
Some Seniors may not have transportation to leave the school campus once they have arrived in the mornings. If students must be in the building due to lack of their own transportation at non-required times, they must follow their regular full day schedule for all classes. Those teachers would be responsible for supervision at those times. Seniors will not be permitted to be in the halls without passes, or just “hanging out” in the building.
Students will not be permitted to wait outside the building, in their vehicles, or in school parking lots between exams or during uncommitted time. You must either leave the campus or be with your assigned teacher.
We expect a positive, exciting, and safe atmosphere on Seniors’ last days in school. We want to celebrate these last days with you, enjoying them fully. Please remind your classmates that any pranks or activity that is disruptive, malicious, damaging to property, or potentially dangerous, will be addressed through school disciplinary action and appropriate legal charges. No one should bring water balloons, water blasters, or similar accessories on to school property in any vehicles or containers. Do not put yourself in the position to face charges, pay disciplinary consequences, or be excluded from the Commencement ceremony.
Seniors will be considered present the four days including June 3 – 6, as long as they fulfill the required obligations set forth by the teachers. Students not reporting for scheduled finals, disciplinary obligations, or other required events will face the appropriate consequences. Enjoy the uncommitted parts of these four days as you prepare for the big event of June 10 – the Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2008.
Friday’s hot breakfast will be Breakfast Pizza.
Seniors will receive a picture notice today in homeroom that should be taken home to parents regarding graduation photos.
Any Rachel’s Challenge, Challenge Day or Ophelia student who is interested in the knitting project for the Neighborhood Art House children should report to the Student Services conference room at MIHS immediately after announcements for a very important meeting.
