Senior High Library
Mission Statement
The mission of the McDowell Senior High School Library is to support the curriculum of McDowell High School and ensure that all students and staff are effective users of both ideas and information. This mission is accomplished by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats, by providing instruction to foster competence, and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas, by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Circulation Policies
- Books may be borrowed by MHS and MIHS students and staff using their MTSD identification card.
- General student circulation is 3 weeks with a 3 week renewal period; staff circulation is 4 weeks.
- Magazines, reference, and teacher-reserve materials are circulated for OVERNIGHT ONLY and MUST be returned by 7:30 the next morning. Overnight overdues carry an automatic 1 hour office detention.
- Overdue notices will be sent to students; detentions may be issued for materials not returned in a timely fashion.
- No fines are charged. Students will be charged for replacement of lost or damaged materials.
