Honors College applications are now being accepted for the 2019 school year

Honors College applications are now being accepted for the 2019 school year. Applications may be sent to McDowell High School, attention Honors College Directors. The due date for applications is February 1, 2019. Applications and information are available here.

What's So Cool About Manufacturing

Four of our eighth grade students are working on the What's So Cool About Manufacturing project with Finish Thompson. Students and teachers had the opportunity to tour the facility and learn about their pump manufacturing and application. Our students Ivan Potapchuk, Billy Mitchell, Pavel Burdak and Fu Jang will be competing against other students throughout Northwest Pennsylvania on their video production of Finish Thompson and how vital manufacturing is to our community and country. In addition, this experience highlights. how science, engineering and math is used outside of the classroom.

Fundraising Challenge for McDowell Unified Track Team

McDowell H.S. and McDowell Intermediate H.S. have a fundraising challenge to help raise money for the Special Olympics and the McDowell Unified Track Team. As part of the fundraising incentive, McDowell Principal Mr. Fuller and M.I.H.S. Principal Dr. Cavanagh agreed to take the plunge if their respective school raises the most money. Money will be collected in each school.

Grandview Elementary School Lemonade Stand

Grandview students recently participated in a service learning campaign in honor of “Alex’s Lemonade Stand," an organization that supports children with cancer. Grandview Students raised over $1700 in the campaign honoring former Grandview student Nicholas Pagano.
