John Diplacido

MTSD School Board President John Diplacido

Mr. John Diplacido was born and raised in Erie, Mr. Diplacido and wife Susan moved to Millcreek in 1990 with their 5 children. Growing up in Erie, Mr. Diplacido attended Gannon University and then joined the United States Air Force in 1969 as a Communication Technician. After an honorable discharge from USAF, Mr. Diplacido worked several jobs at General Electric while attending night school to complete his BSEE, MSE and MBA degrees at Gannon University. During his time at GE, while working as a staff facility Electrical engineer, Mr. Diplacido earned the PA Professional Engineer Licensure. and retired in 2009 after 42 years as a Senior Electrical Engineer.

Mr. Diplacido has served as an appointed Board member of the Millcreek Township Sewer Authority for 27 years until Authority disbanded in 2018, serving as President for several years. Member and former President of local church Parish Council for several years and volunteer for church festival activities. Serving as the MTSD representative at the Erie County Tech School Joint Operating Committee, including past President, since 2011

What do you love about Millcreek Township Schools?

​Millcreek schools have always been the gold standard for public education in the area. The teachers, programs, extra curricular, sports, special education programs, etc. attracted us to our district. The possibilities are endless for the students and everyone can find something that will help them in the getting the overall education they need to be successful in any field they may choose after high school.

There have been many classes over the years, geometry stands out as a favorite, but maybe it was because of the instructor who made it easy to understand.
