Chestnut Hill Hosts Veteran's Day Luncheons

Chestnut Hill hosted 2 Veteran's Day luncheons, one on Tuesday, November 12 and the other on Wednesday, November 13. The Veterans were treated to an "All American" lunch with their student, as the 5th grade chorus sang the "National Anthem." Artwork honoring the Veterans and thanking them for their service adorned the hallways for all to see when they entered the building.

We would like to extend a "Special Thank You" to Gordon's Meat Market for helping to make our event a success!

Principal for the Day

Two students, Mia Parker and Logan Hall, turned in their triangles, which they earn for being Respectful, Responsible and Safe at CH, to be "Principal for a Day."

Halloween Parade

Chestnut Hill students showed off their clever Halloween costumes during the parade.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week, the Anti-Drug and Anti-Bullying program, took place all week here at Chestnut Hill. To kick things off, students designed posters and some went on to video announcements to promote their No Drugs and Bullying campaign. They signed their classroom pledges and put up their stars in the hallway. They dressed as a team or wore their favorite team jerseys. And finally, "Shaded out Drugs and Bullying" with sunglasses. The 5th graders participated in the McDowell ROTC Drug and Alcohol informative lesson. It was a very busy week here at Chestnut Hill.

Fire Prevention Week

The Kearsarge Firefighters were at Chestnut Hill Thursday and Friday, Oct. 10 and 11 to give their fire safety program to Kindergarten - 3rd grades. We are always grateful to all the firefighters who attend CH each year, volunteering their time to teach our students fire safety strategies. The students enjoy seeing the truck and what it does and can do during a fire.

Chestnut Hill's Fun Run

The annual Fun Run was held on Tuesday, September 17. Student's from grades K-5 ran fun obstacles as parents cheered them on. The Fun Run is Chestnut Hill's major PTA fundraiser which helps support all of the great programs, parties, etc. paid for by our wonderful PTA.

Thank you to all the families and staff members that helped support the PTA.
