Attention MIHS students. Are you on Santa's naughty or nice list? If you want to be on the nice list then get your ticket for student council's holiday movie day on Friday, December 20th. Tickets will be on sale Monday thru Wednesday next week during all three lunches. In order to purchase a ticket you must bring your school ID and a permission slip signed by your 4th block teacher so you can miss class on movie day. Green permission slips can be picked up from your tutorial teacher. For only $3.00 you get admission into the movie, a candy cane, a cookie, and you will be allowed to wear school appropriate pajamas the day of the movie. Seating is limited so only 250 tickets per lunch and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Any questions check out the flyers around the school or ask a student council member.
Due to scheduling conflicts, McDowell Media Club will no longer be meeting on Thursdays. The club will still meet every Tuesday from 2:40 to 4 pm, but beginning today, Thursdays are cancelled. Occasionally work could be completed on Thursdays by appointment only. Check with Mrs. Weiss for availability.
The Republican Club will be meeting this Friday during tutorial in room 121 at the main High School. We will be discussing upcoming elections for state representative and state senate, and observing the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. All students are welcome to attend, and we encourage students with opposing viewpoints to join us.
Attention MIHS Students: This is a reminder to all students to turn in their PAR tickets to the front office as soon as possible. Remember, the holiday break is quickly approaching, so drawings for the gift baskets will be happening in several days. Be sure to give yourself an opportunity to gain an early Christmas gift by winning one! And remember to be Present, Accountable, and Respectful.

Attention all students, The track and field team will be holding a fundraiser at the Five Guys Peninsula Drive location tomorrow from noon to 8PM. 20 percent of all purchases that mention Mcdowell Track and field will go toward benefiting the team. Please come out and support the McDowell Track and Field Team.

Asbury Woods "Winter Wonderland" at Andrew J. Conner Nature Center. 6:00-9:00 pm, December 13-15, December 20-22 and December 27-29. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for Asbury Woods supporting donors.
Attention all students: It’s important to remember that the holidays are not always about getting presents, but also giving back. The McDowell Honors College is sponsoring an 'Angels of Giving' gift drive beginning today and running through next week. These gifts will be given to the residents of St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge nursing home to bring joy and brighten their holiday. We will be accepting gift donations including new blankets, mints, gum, snacks, teddy bears, and slippers and socks with grippers in Mrs. Palm’s room, 221 at the Senior High, or Mrs. White's room, 4-252, at MIHS. Be an angel and please donate a new item or two!

Looking for a thoughtful gift for your friends or teachers? PAR will be selling Candy Grams at all 3 lunches December 9th through the 13th. Students can purchase Candy canes that will be delivered to the tutorial of the recipient. The Candy grams include a gift tag to write a special note. Happy Holidays!
Tickets for the Elf musical are currently on sale in Mr. Johnson's room 6-105. The show runs December 12th, 13th, and 14th at 7 PM and the 14th and 15th at 2 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, and $5 for students. Join the cast of 50 of your class mates as Buddy the Elf embarks on a journey to find his dad! All seats are assigned so if you would like to sit with group of friends please purchase your tickets together! We would love to see everyone at the show!
