Retirement Information

For retired employees, see the information below:

Submit your PSERS application to PSERS within 90 Days of your retirement date.  

  • Submit your Application for Retirement (PSRS 8). 
  •  MTSD reports retirements to PSERS on the 15th of the month. 

    • i.e., if you retire on June 9th, your retirement date will be reported to PSERS on July 15th. 

  • If you are over 65 at retirement, ensure you have completed a Medicare Part B Special Enrollment form.  

  • If you are under 65 at the time of retirement, Medicare will send you information in regard to enrollment around your 65th birthday.

When will my PSERS Benefits Start?

Please note it may take up to 6 months from your last day worked for your PSERS benefits to begin. This is handled by PSERS and any questions regarding the timeline of benefits should be directed to PSERS.
